Connetable de Talbot 2016 is a Saint-Julien produced from 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 60% Merlot. This second wine has a dark and rich color. The nose has notes of flowers and red fruit. Its aromas are enticing, elegant and fresh. The mouth is surprisingly powerful in terms of its tannic structure-considering a second wine is usually less dense than the first. A full-bodied wine with spices and a fruity finish. A great success with the 2016 vintage for Chateau Talbot’s second wine.
Big cassis fruit with nice, toasty and vanilla oak, draw you into the full and almost silky palate, where the tannins only slightly show their hand right at the end. Second wine of Château Talbot. Drink or hold.
Pale to medium garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Connetable de Talbot features red and black plums as well as red and black currants on the nose with suggestions of bay leaves, fallen leaves and cloves. The palate is medium-bodied, refreshing and elegant with plenty of lively red berries and warm plum flavors, with a soft texture and spicy finish.
